Summary Description:
Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Services Manager, the production planner takes direction from all leadership functions, operations, admin, etc. The Production Planner schedules manufacturing equipment and raw materials to efficiently meet customer demand. The position is responsible for scheduling jobs to minimize downtime, effectively utilizing equipment and to ensuring on-time delivery.
What you'll be doing:
- Review open sales orders and utilize the ERP system to generate manufacturing orders.
- Schedule production jobs to meet Customer requirements while minimizing changeovers, downtime, and inventory.
- Participate/Lead daily production schedule meetings to understand plant performance and inquiries from the production team.
- Analyze and manage overall plant supply chain and develop strategies to meet goals. Work with production, shipping, and other staff to maintain minimal inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods
- Work with plant leadership and customers to address quality and service issues. Implement required counter measures.
- Review the accuracy of manufacturing orders per instruction.
- Generate reports on production status and any Schedule deviations.
- Ensure data integrity of all planning information and ERP system.
- Participate in initiatives to improve schedule deviation or other scheduling and planning processes.
- Subject-matter expert and a key contributor to ERP implementation
- Provide support to Manufacturing or other functions on any ERP system-related activities.
- This role is a critical member of the SPS/(TPM) Supply Chain Pillar which actively seeks to lean out all processes.
- Maintain strict controls for accounting and financial excellence. Support month end close and all internal/external audit efforts.
- Perform weekly audits as scheduled.
- Perform other duties as required.
This is an onsite position located out of our Elk Grove Village, IL Facility

- 4-year degree preferred – 5+ years of experience can substitute
- ERP experience preferred. Previous experience in manufacturing is extremely helpful.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.
- Being reliable, having good initiative, and being committed is a must.
- Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.
- The person in this position will be flexible, have a positive attitude, be self-motivated and have strong attention to detail.
