Production Planner - Tulsa
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules for machined, fabricated, and assembled components
- Convert sales orders and forecasts into actionable work orders and shop schedules
- Coordinate closely with procurement to ensure availability of raw materials and critical components
- Monitor WIP and production progress; adjust schedules in real time to address delays, rework, or priority changes
- Evaluate capacity constraints across machining centers, welding, heat treat, and inspection; proactively manage bottlenecks
- Ensure routing, BOMs, and lead times in ERP/MRP systems are accurate and up to date
- Support expediting efforts for high-priority or delayed orders without derailing overall production flow
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Operations on issues impacting schedule (nonconformances, engineering changes, etc.)
- Track and report KPIs such as on-time delivery, schedule adherence, and backlog status
- Participate in S&OP / demand planning discussions and provide realistic capacity input
- Perform other work related tasks as assigned
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- To carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and departmental works instructions.
- To contribute to general improvements in the quality of key activities within the department.
- Comply with all HSE procedures and policies.
- The employee may perform duties in or around operational, production, warehouse, yard, or manufacturing environments and may make decisions that affect the safety of personnel, equipment, materials, or operations. The employee must remain fit for duty, follow all company safety policies and procedures, use required PPE, exercise stop-work authority when appropriate, and immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience) preferred
- 3–7 years of experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment (oil & gas or heavy industrial preferred)
- Working knowledge of machining, fabrication, and assembly processes
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE, etc.)
- Strong Excel skills (data analysis, scheduling, and reporting)
