PRODUCTION SHOP PLANNER (GENERAL)

You will serve as a PRODUCTION SHOP PLANNER (GENERAL) in the DEPARTMENT OF NAVY to include work sites of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Trident Refit Facility Bangor and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. Applicants will only be considered for positions within their own UIC. For example: if you are within UIC 4523A, you will only be considered for positions within 4523A.

You will make work site inspections to determine planning requirements, progress of work and status or expenditures.

You will plan assignment of work on the basis of overall workload status, priorities, employee performance and capabilities and training needs.

You will review process Instructions, methods and standards, and similar documents prior to issue.

You will read and interpret blueprints, specifications, manuals, memoranda and sketches.

You will apply theories, principles, practices and techniques of the trade skills as well as working knowledge of quality assurance, testing, combat systems, engineering and planning practices imposed on the shipyard.

You will communicate both orally and in writing and must exercise the utmost in tactful persuasiveness in addition to sound judgement in the many contacts with all levels of authority with the shipyard.
