Production Specialist

This position manages and performs activities in the Manufacturing organization related to inventory control, production planning and tracking, training excellence, documentation, improvement initiatives, and quality. The primary objective of the position is to meet quality, production, and improvement goals.

Responsibilities

  • CAPA:
    Lead event investigations using root cause problem solving tools. Write and obtain approval for investigation reports to meet timeliness goals and production schedule. Manage corrective action deliverables to ensure timely completion. Interface with Manufacturing batch record review and Quality to address batch record errors.
    Work with Department supervision to develop and implement Right The First Time improvement and Human Error Reduction initiatives.
    o Track and report metrics.
  • Training:
    Work with Department supervision to develop and implement Training Excellence initiatives and use ISOtrain to ensure department personnel are assigned appropriate training curriculum. Conduct general awareness training.
    Monitor Department personnel training compliance to reduce and eliminate controllable missed training.
    Interface with site training coordinator, track and report metrics.
  • Documentation:
    Work with cross functional teams to improve and update directions. Interface with Documentation Center personnel to revise documents.
  • Inventory maintenance and production tracking:
    Subject matter expert in SAP for inventory and production. Track and report bulk usages. Support production in inventory management.
    Interface with Planning to create and manage production process order numbers and batch numbers.
    Initiate and track blanket purchase orders for goods and services to support production.
    Track weekly and monthly yield performance and report to Department supervision and Finance.
  • BS degree in Engineering or Science is preferred.
  • 5+ years experience with pharmaceutical, biological, chemical manufacturing or similar is preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office and communications software packages.
