Production Team Member

Job Title: Production Team Member
Shift: Nights Shift. Our Night shift works from 4:00 pm to 4:00 am. Our shifts are works rotating shifts, averaging 3-4 shifts per week on a structured two-week schedule. The rotation is as follows:

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday
  • Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday
  • This two-week rotation then repeats consistently.

Pay: $20 an hour, with the opportunity to make $4 more with our Pay for Knowledge Program!

Summary: Assist in all production needs. Produce, process and develop high-quality custom color concentrates in accordance with UCC standards and customer specifications. Support UC philosophy focused on facilitating the growth of the organization, continually improving quality, and driving to a world class safety and environmental culture.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete training as appropriate in all pertinent areas of production including Mixing, Extrusion, Molding, Packaging, Pre-Check and Material Handling.
  • Work in department assigned by supervisor or designee.
  • Notify shift supervisor of any quality, mechanical, technical or safety problems in the work area.
  • Provide assistance as directed by shift supervisor or production team leads to other areas throughout the shift.
  • Follow safety procedures as designated on all equipment.
  • Follow housekeeping requirements.
  • Responsible for keeping work area safe.
  • Responsible for wearing safety equipment.
  • Provide assistance to all other production positions as required by supervisor.
  • Execute plant cleanliness expectations without direction.
  • Communicate or question necessary info to appropriate persons or people
  • Follow UC Quality System-approved work instructions and procedures and help improve these as needed.
  • Responsible for successful facilitation of all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete monthly Safety Observations and attend UC Connect Meetings.
  • Other assigned duties as needed.

Preferred Experience, Training, and Skills:

  • Knowledge of all production operations.
  • Knowledge of all production procedures.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work within a flexible schedule.
  • Good leadership and communication skills.
  • Able to communicate in English.
  • Must pass color test.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand/walk up to 11 hours during the day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on any particular day.
  • Ability to climb stairs multiple times on any particular day.
