Production Test Technician

The Production Test Technician is responsible for performing inspection, testing, and verification of manufactured optical and multi-layer products throughout various stages of the manufacturing process. This role ensures that products meet defined quality standards, supports traceability and documentation requirements, and facilitates accurate and timely feedback to Production, Engineering, and R&D teams.
The position requires strong attention to detail, careful handling of precision components, and consistent adherence to quality procedures and documentation practices.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection & Testing
- Perform testing and inspection of optical assemblies and multi-layer products using established procedures and test equipment.
- Load optics into test equipment and initiate computer-controlled test cycles to evaluate product performance.
- Review and interpret test results to determine product acceptance or rejection within defined criteria.
- Coordinate with Technicians, Engineers, and Scientists as needed to validate test outcomes and resolve discrepancies.
Data Management & Traceability
- Enter and maintain accurate records of optical assemblies and test results in company systems.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of products throughout the inspection and testing process.
- Maintain organized and accurate test data, logs, and records in accordance with quality system requirements.
Production & Packaging Support
- Support preparation of standard products, including cutting, cleaning, and packaging of optics into finished goods.
- Perform final inspections and ensure accurate labeling prior to product release.
- Assist with inventory-related data entry for materials and finished products as required.
Cross-Functional Support
- Support Production, Custom, and R&D activities related to quality control and product evaluation.
- Communicate test results and issues clearly to Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
- Provide feedback on recurring quality issues to support continuous improvement efforts.
Safety, Quality & Workplace Organization
- Follow all safety procedures, handling requirements, and contamination control practices for precision optical components.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S standards.
- Comply with Rigaku quality systems, ISO requirements, and documentation standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with measurement or test equipment in a quality or manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows, Microsoft Office, or similar systems).
- Ability to handle precision and fragile components with care.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a technical discipline (mechanical, electrical, or related field), or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in a quality control or inspection role.
- Familiarity with optical components, precision assemblies, or similar products.
