Program Portfolio Lead

As we continue to execute a pipeline of strategic initiatives across multiple business units, we are seeking an experienced Product Portfolio Lead to join our Product & Strategy team.

About the Role
Reporting to the Product Strategy Lead, the Product Portfolio Lead will act as the operational backbone of the Product & Strategy function.
You will be responsible for governing and managing a portfolio of strategic initiatives from concept through to implementation, ensuring visibility, accountability, budget discipline, and successful delivery across the business.
Working closely with leaders across Commercial Solutions, Operations, Finance, and Sales, you will establish governance frameworks, manage program delivery, oversee business cases and budgets, and provide executive-level reporting to support informed decision-making.
This is a highly visible role that requires strong stakeholder engagement, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence outcomes without direct authority.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Governance
Own the end-to-end lifecycle of strategic programs and initiatives
Manage initiative intake, business case development, delivery, and post-implementation reviews
Maintain a live portfolio register with milestones, ownership, risks, and status updates
Develop and implement governance frameworks and delivery standards
Chair program forums and ensure accountability across workstreams
Monitor progress and provide portfolio visibility to senior leadership
Stakeholder Management
Build strong relationships across Commercial Solutions, Operations, Sales, Finance, and Business Units
Establish governance cadences and reporting frameworks across multiple stakeholders
Identify dependencies, risks, and escalation requirements early
Influence outcomes and coordinate delivery without direct authority
Prepare and deliver executive-level portfolio updates and recommendations
Budget & Commercial Governance
Manage forecasting, expenditure tracking, and budget reporting for the Product & Strategy function
Monitor budget performance and proactively identify variances
Support business case development, investment proposals, and financial modelling
Assist with commercial evaluation and strategic decision-making
Drive financial governance and reporting discipline across initiatives
About You
You are a highly organised and commercially focused professional with strong program management capability and a passion for continuous improvement.
You enjoy bringing structure to complex environments, building relationships with senior stakeholders, and ensuring strategic initiatives are delivered successfully.
Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience in Program Management, Portfolio Management, PMO, Strategy, or Business Transformation roles
Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
Strong governance, project delivery, and portfolio management capability
Experience preparing executive-level reports and presentations
Budget management, forecasting, and variance reporting experience
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
Experience developing governance frameworks and delivery methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong facilitation, negotiation, and problem-solving capability
Experience within logistics, transport, professional services, technology, or related industries highly regarded
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, or a related discipline (required)
