Roles and Responsibilities

The Programme Assistant supports the planning and delivery of programmes and activities for seniors, fostering meaningful engagement and promoting active ageing. The role involves programme facilitation, client engagement,administrative support, and coordination with volunteers and community partners to ensure the smooth operation of centre activities.

Job Description

Programme Planning& Delivery

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of daily programmes and activities for seniors.
  • Facilitate group activities, recreational programmes, exercises, games, and social engagement sessions for clients.
  • Support the organisation of festive celebrations, community events, outings, and special projects where necessary.
  • Prepare activity materials, equipment, and venue set-up before programmes and events.

Client Engagement& Support

  • Monitor clients during activities and provide assistance where required.
  • Accompany clients during outings and external activities when required.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and conducive environment for clients.

Programme Administration & Documentation

  • Maintain attendance records and programme documentation where necessary.
  • Support the collection of feedback and evaluation of programmes.

StakeholderCoordination

  • Liaise with volunteers, vendors, and community partners on programme-related matters where required.

Other Duties

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Centre Manager.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum NITEC, GCE 'N' Level, GCE 'O' Level, or equivalent qualification.
  2. Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  3. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Able to interact effectively with seniors from diverse backgrounds.
  5. Positive attitude, patient, caring, and service-oriented.
  6. Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  7. Organised and able to manage multiple tasks and timelines.
  8. Prior experience in eldercare, healthcare, social services, community care, or event coordination will be an advantage.
  9. Willing to learn and participate in programme planning and execution.
  10. Physically fit to support activities and accompany seniors during outings when required.
