In the Project Coordinator role, this individual will work collaboratively with site teams and corporate head office staff, fostering strong cross-functional relationships. A team-oriented mindset and excellent communication skills are essential. The successful candidate will also demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and be willing to work on remote project sites throughout British Columbia.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the day-to-day administrative requirements of heavy civil construction projects, ensuring all documentation, records, and project controls are accurate, current, and properly filed in accordance with company standards.
  • Develop, monitor, and update project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager and department leads.
  • Proactively communicate key project plans, upcoming activities, potential risks, and areas of concern to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work independently to manage priorities and deadlines while effectively taking direction and guidance from multiple leaders, including Project Managers, Superintendents, and corporate department managers.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to site leadership and corporate head office, including progress updates, cost tracking, production metrics, procurement logs, subcontractor coordination, and other project performance indicators.
  • Foster strong working relationships with field operations, estimating, accounting, procurement, equipment, safety, HR and senior leadership teams. Maintain open lines of communication to support collaboration and efficient problem resolution.
  • Support contract administration activities, including change management, RFI tracking, submittals, and document control, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and company procedures.
  • Apply creative and practical problem-solving skills to address project challenges in a fast-paced construction environment.


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a heavy civil construction environment is an asset.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cost control processes within a civil construction setting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional correspondence, technical reports, meeting minutes, and clearly communicate with field crews, subcontractors, consultants, and corporate stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, dynamic project environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and taking direction from multiple leaders.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to and work on remote project sites, including camp-based assignments, throughout British Columbia.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record.
