Project Engineer (1 year contract)
You will manage technical interfacing, site coordination, and installation of Automated Fare Collection (AFC) systems across metro stations in Singapore and Malaysia, ensuring seamless integration with rail subsystems and successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
Lead the physical installation of AFC equipment on-site, ensuring compliance with safety and technical specifications
Supervise subcontractors to maintain quality and timely completion of installation tasks
Attend interface meetings with other system contractors to identify and resolve technical gaps between AFC and civil, power, and communication works
Manage daily site activities, coordinating with station authorities to facilitate smooth operations and project progress
Apply problem-solving skills to address on-site technical issues promptly under time constraints
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and interface control documents (ICDs) to guide installation and integration
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure AFC system aligns with overall rail infrastructure requirements
Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and use planning tools such as MS Project for tracking progress
Travel frequently between metro stations in Singapore and Malaysia for site supervision and stakeholder meetings
Communicate effectively with contractors and authorities to manage expectations and project commitments
Preferred competencies and qualifications
Prior experience working on AFC systems in metro projects such as MRT, LRT, or RTS will be advantage
Familiarity with rail project standards and authority requirements in Singapore and Malaysia, including interaction with operators like Prasarana Malaysia and regulators under the Ministry of Transport Malaysia is highly regarded.
2-3 years experience in testing and commissioning phases, including system integration testing
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, site-driven environment with frequent cross-border travel
Fresh Graduates with relevant course of study and internship exposure may be considered
