This position reports to Manager of Plant Engineering-Atlanta Plant.

Relocation is eligible for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in the development of new production processes and equipment.

  • Thoroughly understands and practices the most current Hormel Engineering principles of effective Project Management.

  • Directs the installation, start-up and debugging of highly sophisticated “state-of-the-art” production systems.

  • Develops, prepares, and recommends appropriation requests for capital and annual maintenance projects.

  • Recommends the use of outside contractors/suppliers and effectively coordinates their use to achieve project objectives.

  • Sets up preventive maintenance schedules for new equipment and machinery to ensure up time and extended life.

  • Utilizes principles of root cause analysis and reliability centered maintenance to solve complex problems.

  • Supports expanded utilization of the company's Enterprise Asset Management System and its use as a key management information tool.

  • Assists with Environmental Sustainability program implementation (including energy projects and environmental compliance activities).

  • Assists with Process Safety Management (PSM)/Risk Management (RM) programs

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • A strong pattern of initiative and highly developed leadership skills.

  • Proven problem-solving, decision-making, project management and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance many tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong working knowledge of basic computer applications with the ability to master EAMS software.

  • Previously obtained CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) or ability to achieve certification in 18 months or less.

  • Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa

  • Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions)

Preferred

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field.

  • Minimum three years’ experience in a Maintenance Engineer, Staff Engineer, Industrial Engineer or similar engineering role

  • Successful completion of leadership training course(s), such as Dale Carnegie or similar training.

Compensation/Benefits:

  • The base pay range for this position $93,400 to $130,775 per year; however, actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills set, level of experience, and specific office location.
