A project engineer (PJE) is responsible for managing and coordinating all engineering activities within a

project to ensure successful delivery in line with contract requirements, quality standards, schedule, and

budget. The role involves cross\-functional coordination, technical leadership, risk identification, and

ensuring seamless integration across all engineering disciplines.

1. Contract & Technical Management

 Possess a strong understanding of contract requirements and technical specifications.

 Develop integrated multidisciplinary engineering designs in compliance with contract scope and

applicable standards.

 Identify “grey areas” in the contract and highlight associated risks and opportunities.

 Monitor and control technical scope throughout the project lifecycle.

 Identify and prepare engineering scope changes and present them to the project manager.

2. Engineering Planning & Strategy

 Define engineering strategy and provide inputs to the Project Execution Plan (PEP).

 Guide the overall engineering process aligned with project objectives.

 Ensure adherence to the Standard Project Execution Flow (SPEF).

 Incorporate lessons learned from previous projects into ongoing engineering activities.

3. Coordination & Communication

 Lead coordination among different engineering disciplines to ensure design integration.

 Ensure effective communication of all design changes across the project team.

 Manage engineering communication with internal stakeholders, vendors, and external parties.

 Facilitate and lead SCRUM sessions to drive progress and resolve issues.

 Review DSL to ensure completeness and alignment with project schedule and interdisciplinary

dependencies.

 Manage engineering document flow across all stakeholders.

 Ensure all engineering deliverables undergo required checks and approvals.

5. Procurement & Vendor Management

 Review and approve purchase requisitions (PR).

 Manage outsourced engineering packages in coordination with lead/package engineers.

 Ensure vendor deliverables meet project requirements and timelines.

6. Quality, Risk & Compliance

 Ensure all engineering activities comply with quality standards and contractual obligations.

 Conduct necessary design reviews and checks to maintain engineering integrity.

 Consult Product Technology Manager when design deviates from standard or proven solutions.

7. Budget & Schedule Management

 Monitor and control engineering activities within approved budget and timelines.

 Provide regular updates and forecasts on engineering progress.

8. Construction & Site Support
