About Us
The Workplace Department (WP) delivers a broad range of facilities management, workplace services, and property services across the Bank’s portfolio, ensuring safe, secure and efficient environments that support the Bank’s operations and people. Within WP, the Project Delivery Section is responsible for planning and delivering a diverse range of infrastructure, security, workplace, and asset improvement projects across multiple sites.
This role sits within the WP Project Delivery Section and forms part of a dedicated project team based in Craigieburn, whilst bring connected to the wider WP Department across Sydney and Melbourne. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, contractors and technical specialists, the project team is responsible for delivering an electronic security upgrade across a multi-facility site, in order to enhance the security, resilience, and operational effectiveness of critical Bank infrastructure.
About the Role
As Project Lead, you will support the Project Manager and alongside other team members to plan, coordinate, and deliver this Project. You will contribute to key project activities across the full project lifecycle, including planning, scoping, budgeting, design coordination, procurement, construction tendering, delivery/construction phase activities, and project handover. You will be responsible for contributing to project outcomes within the Bank’s Project, Risk, and Governance Management frameworks.
The position involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of external design consultants, contractors and specialist installers. Your contribution will enable the Project team to achieve successful outcomes on time, on budget, and to the required standards. This role is ideal for a proactive, solutions focused professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys working with diverse stakeholder groups.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Delivery and Governance
Support the active management of the project schedule, budget, resources, scope, design, quality and benefits.
Contribute to the uplift of project and program maturity by ensuring effective governance, delivery discipline, and continuously supporting improvement across all aspects of project delivery, processes, and templates.
Lead monthly Governance and Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) reporting for the project
Operational & Compliance Experience
Ability to work in high-security or operational facilities, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and security policies for employees and contractors.
Ability to ensure compliance throughout project delivery through accurate record-keeping, WHS adherence, and coordinated change control processes to enable reliable delivery and smooth transitions.
Risk Management
Ability to identify, manage, and support the mitigation of risks and issues using the Bank’s Risk Management Framework.
Ability to challenge assumptions, simplify complexities, and capitalise on opportunities to improve project value and execution.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
Ability to build trust and confidence through structured engagement, clear messaging and forum facilitation with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
Support the Project Manager with stakeholder management and project communication.
Financial Management
Support the management project financials throughout the project lifecycle, in line with budgetary controls and forecasting requirements.
Support the management of variances in project schedule and financial position, enabling early identification and resolution of issues.
Procurement & Contract Administration
Support the delivery of procurement activities as required, in partnership with the Bank’s Procurement Team.
Support the Project Manager with contract management and administration, including preparation of, and adherence to, contract documents.
About You
You’re a confident project lead/coordinator with experience in delivering electronic security, construction or infrastructure projects. You are organised and structured in your approach to project management, willing to roll your sleeves up and thrive in environments that require problem-solving, stakeholder engagement and accountability.
Your Experience & Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in coordination of electronic security, construction or infrastructure projects
Demonstrated understanding of project management frameworks, methodologies, and tools
Demonstrated experience in tendering processes and contract administration
Demonstrated ability to support the management of risk, budgets, and complex stakeholder environments
Desirable, professional certification in Project or Program Management (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2)
Currently holds, or has the ability to obtain, Australian Government Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) clearance.
