As a Project Leader within the StandardAero Operating System (SAOS) team, you’ll lead the execution of key business and operational projects that drive efficiency, quality, and alignment across the organization.
This is an individual contributor role. While this role does not involve direct people management, you will be fully responsible for leading and coordinating your own projects from start to finish and collaborating with stakeholders across functions and locations. Location: On-site in San Antonio, TX or Dallas, TX
What you'll do:
- Take full ownership of assigned SAOS projects, from planning and coordination to delivery.
- Develop project charters, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Facilitate project meetings and maintain clear communication with all contributors.
- Track progress, manage risks, and adjust plans as needed to meet objectives.
- Analyze project data and performance metrics to drive insights and improvement.
- Support cross-site deployment plans and business case development.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or other CI methodologies when appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.
Support SAOS project implementation, business case development, roadmap/project portfolio, and overall governance activities
Partner with project leads, business sponsors, IT, and transformation leaders to execute cross-site deployment plans
Implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and support automation activities for operational metrics, dashboards, and performance reports
Assist with root cause analysis and support corrective actions/preventative actions
Lead projects to optimize operating processes and workflows aimed to increase productivity, reduce turn-around-time, improve quality, and enhance quarterly delivery performance
Collect and analyze data related to processes and production operations systems through observations of work activities, and staff surveys
Develop, modify, and implement standard work instructions, process documentation and time studies
Monitor project health, risks, and status updates for assigned projects
Support production planning, capacity analysis, and line balancing improvement initiatives
Collaborate with cross-functional team (quality, supply chain, and engineering)
Assess business systems, including source selection and implementation activities
Support and assist with the implementation of change management strategies
Positions Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of project management, project coordination, business analyst, or leadership experience in a cross-functional setting
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project or Smartsheet) as well as other Microsoft applications (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
- Ability to build strong working relationships across teams and functions
- Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge in building a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is required.
- Familiarity with both waterfall and agile project management methodologies, and understands the five phases of project management
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Preferred Characteristics:
- Experience in aerospace, MRO, or manufacturing
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement knowledge
- PMP certification or formal project management training
Experience with ERP/MRP Systems (Oracle, Navixa, Impresa, or similar)
Proficiency in business data analytic tools (Power BI or similar)
