Project Manager in a few words

The project manager is responsible of project governance, execution, and financial performance across the full project lifecycle. The PM acts as a key interface between Engineering, Finance /Accounting and Management to ensure projects are delivered on time, quality and within budget, with accurate financial visibility.

Roles and Responsibilities

Project Governance and Execution

  • Project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure in line with company standards.
  • Support risk identification, mitigation actions, and issue escalation at project and portfolio level.
  • Support Sales and Operations during quotation and project setup with cost and margin inputs.

Project Financial Control

  • Translate operational project plans and milestones into financial schedules.
  • Establish and maintain project-level cost tracking, including labor, material, and external costs.
  • Monitor actual costs vs budget, forecast project margins, and identify deviations early.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial project reporting to management.

Process Structuring and System Preparation

  • Design and implement a standardized process for project follow-up : cost tracking (including goods, labor, subcontracting, …), invoicing, overdue, …
  • Define workflows, and controls required for future MS Dynamics integration.

Engineering Team Management

  • Lead the project engineering team; oversee talent development, performance management and culture building; foster a collaborative, innovative, accountable workplace; align team goals with organizational strategy.
  • Allocate per project scale, technical needs and timelines; deploy talent strategically, balance workloads, ensure efficient delivery; adjust resources dynamically based on project priorities.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical, Automation, or other related technical fields
  • At least 5-8 years of Project Management experience in automation industry.
  • Solid understanding of project controlling, budgeting, and revenue recognition principles.
  • Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing ecosystems or technology-driven sectors.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong project management knowledge. PMP certification is MUST.
  • Advanced language skills in English (both spoken and written) and Chinese is a MUST. Able to speak other languages will be an added advantage.
  • Able to communicate confidently at all levels (higher management, customers, peers, workers).
  • Strong analytical skills, structured mindset, and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to positively influence others to achieve results of the projects.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers for Project Planning and Scheduling (e.g. MS Project), Spreadsheets (e.g. MS Excel), Word Processing (e.g. MS Word), Email and Internet.
  • Strong PPT presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning and problem solving skills.
  • Able to work under stress environment and decision making capability.
  • Willing to travel as instructed.
