Project Manager Delivery
We currently have a vacancy for a Project Manager - Delivery at our site in Barrow. This is an exciting opportunity to join the BAE Capability, Capacity and Resilience (BCCR) team responsible for enabling delivery of the SSNA UK Programme. BCCR is seeking to deliver Capacity, Capability and Resilience improvements across the Barrow Shipyard, Supply Chain, Technology and People to deliver in the future.
As Project Manager Delivery you will be responsible for setting the overall architecture approach for the BCCR solution ensuring this can deliver the necessary capabilities to enable Programme delivery. You will undertake options analysis, impact analysis, solution modelling activities – working with the Programme and Business to ensure integration and alignment across key stakeholders. You will provide oversight, control and governance to ensure – leading on Change Control of the solution via configuration, change management, and impact assessments.
This is an excellent PM role, with focus on cross functional working and integration across Programme and Business teams. It’s critical role which you will be at the core of setting the business up to deliver in the future.
Your main responsibilities as Project Manager Delivery\:
· Accountable for the over-all setting of BCCR Solution Architecture approaches – driving alignment with solution architecture approaches across the wider business.
· Lead the Solution Working Group and change control process for the baseline solution definition
· Responsible for integration of the BCCR Solution and Programme.
· Provide oversight, control and governance to ensure the solution is clearly defined and translated into detailed solutions.
· Engage with the customer on issues around the BCCR solution.
· Develop the skills and behaviours of the Solution Architecture team including a positive, improvement orientated, and on time delivery culture.
· Manage the Solution Architecture team.
Your skills and qualifications\:
Essential\:
· Experience in Project Management and Project Delivery
· Submarine build experience (or build and/or design), and familiarity with business systems and “system of work” within submarines.
· Excellent stakeholder management ability with both internal and external stakeholders
· People management experience
Desirable\:
· APM or equivalent project management qualification/ registration
· Chartered PM professional
· Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
· Solution modelling experience (including capacity modelling / articulating how well a solution meets requirements)

We’re looking for you to be an excellent communicator, able to manage multiple stakeholders both internally and externally. You’ll need to be an astute problem solver, able to understand and distil complex problems to determine resolutions.
Location\: Barrow-in-Furness. This role will require a minimum of 2 days per week on site

Maritime – Submarines
Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.
The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.

SSNA is the replacement submarine to the Astute class, and is the third major submarine programme being undertaken for the Royal Navy. SSNA will be the largest Attack submarine ever built for the Royal Navy and it is the core submarine at the heart of the AUKUS tri-national security pact that will deliver world class capability in the late 2030s and beyond.
