Project Officer - Raptor Conservation Programme (M.P. & Karnataka)

WWF\-India is seeking dynamic and self\-motivated biologists with a\npassion for raptor conservation and ecological research. The selected candidate\nwill support the development of Raptor Safe Landscapes by undertaking research\nand conservation actions that promote safe habitats, secure food resources, and\nimproved ecological conditions for raptors and other avian species.\nResponsibilities will include field research, raptor monitoring, ecological\nassessments, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and implementation of\non\-ground conservation initiatives. The position will be based at field\nlocations in Karnataka and will require extensive field travel.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

Terms of Reference for position:<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Undertake raptor research\nand conservation activities to assess the status, distribution, habitat use,\nprey availability, and factors affecting the long\-term survival of raptor\npopulations. Lead ecological surveys, manage and analyse ecological datasets\nusing appropriate statistical tools (including R software), and contribute to\nscientific reporting and knowledge generation.<\/span>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ensure timely implementation\nof project activities and delivery of outputs in accordance with approved work\nplans, timelines, and project objectives.<\/span>
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Coordinate with various\nGovernment departments, community groups, academic institutions, and other stakeholders\nfor effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and review of project\nactivities.<\/span>
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Identify and work with\npartners and stakeholders to promote evidence\-based raptor conservation and\nstrengthen collaborative conservation initiatives across landscapes.<\/span>
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Identify practical solutions\nfor raptor conservation based on field research, ecological assessments, data\nanalysis, and consultations with key stakeholders.<\/span>
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Coordinate with supervisors\nand the Communication Team at WWF\-India Secretariat for documenting and\ndisseminating project progress, research findings, lessons learned, and\nconservation success stories.<\/span>
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Represent WWF\-India at\nrelevant forums, workshops, meetings, and conferences, and build strategic\npartnerships and networks with key institutions and stakeholders in the\nconservation sector.<\/span>

  • Undertake\nany other tasks assigned by the organization in furtherance of its conservation\nand programme objectives.<\/span><\/span>

    Requirements<\/h3>
    • The\nCandidate should have experience in ornithology, raptor research, or wildlife\necology. Experience in field surveys, ecological data collection and analysis, and\nscientific reporting is essential. Experience in stakeholder engagement is\ndesirable.
