Projects I

As a Project I, you will perform maintenance and renovation projects that support the appearance and functionality of the resort. This role requires experience with general building maintenance and a solid foundation in carpentry, including the ability to safely use woodworking tools and complete finish work with minimal supervision.

What You'll Do as a Project I:

• Complete engineering projects, preventative maintenance, guest service requests, and resort improvement tasks.
• Perform carpentry work including framing, trim, cabinetry repairs, door and hardware installation, finish work, and other wood-related repairs.
• Safely operate woodworking equipment, hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment to complete assigned projects.
• Perform drywall, painting, flooring, tile, caulking, and general building repairs.
• Assist with plumbing, electrical, and appliance repairs as needed.
• Complete work orders using maintenance management software (HotSOS and other applicable systems).
• Assist with inventory, materials, and tool organization to ensure project readiness.
• Identify and report safety hazards while following all company safety procedures.
• Communicate professionally with guests, team members, and leadership to resolve maintenance concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring as a Project I:

• One (1) to three (3) years of maintenance or skilled trades experience in a resort, hospitality, commercial, or construction environment preferred.
Hands-on carpentry experience is required, including the ability to safely work with common carpentry tools and equipment. Cabinet-making experience is not required, but candidates should be comfortable performing general carpentry and finish work.
• Experience with drywall, painting, flooring, and general building maintenance preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and woodworking equipment while using appropriate PPE.
• Ability to regularly lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed.
• Required to pass a background check, drug test, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Must uphold Westgate Resorts' standards of professionalism, integrity, safety, and guest service.
