Your Role

This role is central to driving profitable growth and strengthening Chubb’s market position. It plays a key part in delivering branch and corporate objectives by balancing underwriting discipline, portfolio performance, service excellence, and strong broker and client relationships.

In this role, you will:

Book Management

  • Deliver new business, rate, and retention targets for your assigned portfolio to support revenue and profit goals.
  • Use portfolio analysis to drive effective profit and retention strategies.
  • Work closely with Chubb Central and other internal stakeholders to align book management strategy and maintain a consistent broker message.
  • Monitor open claims on assigned accounts and provide recommendations where needed.
  • Prepare thoroughly for account reviews, demonstrating strong knowledge of risk, market conditions, competition, and Chubb’s products and capabilities.

Underwriting Quality & Compliance

  • Maintain underwriting, compliance, and file documentation standards in line with Branch/SBU goals.
  • Assess and decide on new business, renewals, and endorsements within delegated authority.
  • Review risks outside authority and make recommendations for acceptance or declination.
  • Recommend account trade-off decisions where appropriate.
  • Contribute to profit analysis, premium planning, and market/environment reviews as required.

Sales & Marketing

  • Deliver individual producer targets in line with the business plan.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to identify new opportunities across SBU/product lines and broker segments.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to maximise sales and marketing outcomes.
  • Manage the sales pipeline proactively to identify and progress new business opportunities.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Demonstrable ability to proactively identify and implement intelligent solutions to unique underwriting
    situations.
  • Appropriate levels of subject matter expertise in relation to: pricing techniques, alternative risk transfer and
    the development of reserves by individual case and by book of business.
  • Working knowledge of the key accounts in the Branch.
  • Understanding the underwriting appetites of the other departments and associated relationships with
    interdepartmental accounts.
  • Judgement, experience and confidence to make appropriate recommendations for tailoring coverage and
    manuscripting policies.
  • Familiarity with the products / services of key competitors.
  • Demonstrable capacity and efficacy in utilising negotiation strategies to achieve constructive business
    outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with people and influence decisions.
