Your role at St John of God Richmond Hospital

We are seeking applications for a Psychologist (grade 2) to join our Allied Health team on a permanent full-time basis.

This role provides evidenced-based psychology services to the patients of St John of God Health Care (SJGHC) and ensures practice is in accordance to the Psychology Board of Australia Code of Ethics and policies and guidelines. You will be expected to work independently and demonstrate a specialist level of knowledge and depth of experience.

Based in a newly redeveloped 112-bed, purpose-built hospital, this role offers the opportunity to work in a modern, therapeutic environment designed to support recovery and wellbeing. The hospital is nationally recognised for its specialised programs in trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), with a strong focus on supporting first responders and veterans.

The Position

  • Provides individualised and group clinical care based on professional training reflecting current ethical clinical practice as required.

  • Provides comprehensive assessment and care planning monitoring client progress adjusting treatment accordingly.

  • Evaluates clinical outcomes and participates in research activities as required.

  • Liaise with all staff to promote effective communication including verbal and written feedback to referring Doctor.

  • Familiar and complies with legal, ethical responsibilities to patients, visitors and staff.

  • Maintains confidentiality and an appropriate professional relationship with staff and patients.

You will hold a tertiary qualification of Psychology with registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, with experience/ability to provide group programs and individual therapy to child, adolescent and adult patients/clients presenting with a myriad of concerns.

To be successful, you will possess high-level written and oral communication skills, have the ability to undertake quality improvement activities, and be knowledgeable of research and evidence-based practice methodologies.

We can offer you

  • Salary (grade 1 to 2): $79,551 to $118,246 per annum, plus 12% Superannuation

  • Permanent full-time, working 38 hours per week
