Public Area Attendant

  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation across all public areas, including lobbies, corridors, lounges, restrooms, spa areas, and event spaces
  • Ensure all guest‑facing spaces reflect Fairmont’s luxury standards, including furniture arrangement, lighting checks, and scent control
  • Replenish amenities such as towels, toiletries, and guest supplies in public restrooms and spa areas
  • Respond promptly to guest requests, offering warm, professional, and anticipatory service
  • Support VIP arrivals and events, ensuring public spaces are immaculate and guest‑ready
  • Report maintenance issues immediately, ensuring all public areas remain in perfect condition
  • Assist with deep‑cleaning schedules, including carpets, marble, glass, and high‑touch surfaces
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and storage areas in a tidy, organised, and fully stocked state
  • Follow all cleaning procedures, including brand standards and hygiene protocols
  • Collaborate with Housekeeping, Front Office, Spa, and Engineering teams to support seamless operations
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including COSHH and manual handling
  • Support lost‑and‑found procedures with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Uphold Fairmont grooming, communication, and service standards at all times
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team‑focused working environment

Please note that we believe in flexibility and multi-skilling, and you may be asked to do different tasks from time to time to enable us to meet the needs of our guests and colleagues.

  • 1 year of experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or public area roles, ideally within a luxury hotel
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining exceptional standards
  • Understanding of cleaning procedures, hygiene standards, and public area presentation
  • Knowledge of UK health & safety regulations, including COSHH (training can be provided)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good time‑management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Professional, courteous, and guest‑focused attitude
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the role, including manual handling
  • A passion for luxury hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
