Public Area Supervisor (Pre-Opening Hotel)
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the opening team of a new luxury hotel in Singapore. As a Public Area Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring all public spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation. Working closely with operational teams, you will supervise daily public area operations, support team development, and contribute to creating an environment that reflects the hotel's commitment to excellence and luxury hospitality.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the pre-opening setup of public area operations, including establishing cleaning standards, schedules, and operational procedures.
- Assist in preparing all guest-facing and back-of-house public areas to ensure readiness for hotel opening and ongoing operations.
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Public Area Attendants, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in accordance with company standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of public areas, restrooms, corridors, event spaces, and other facilities to maintain cleanliness, presentation, and safety standards.
- Train, coach, and guide team members on cleaning procedures, equipment usage, and service expectations.
- Monitor the condition of public areas, furnishings, fixtures, and decorative elements, and coordinate with relevant departments to address maintenance issues.
- Ensure cleaning equipment, chemicals, supplies, and storerooms are properly maintained, organised, and stocked.
- Support manpower planning, attendance monitoring, scheduling, and daily operational reporting.
- Work closely with internal departments to support operational readiness, special events, VIP arrivals, and peak business periods.
- Respond promptly to guest feedback and operational concerns, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Promote compliance with workplace safety, hygiene, and company policies while maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in housekeeping, public area operations, or a related hospitality environment.
- Previous supervisory experience or experience leading a team will be advantageous.
- Familiarity with cleaning methods, equipment, chemicals, and workplace safety practices.
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and service excellence.
- Physically fit and able to perform operational duties as required.
- Able to support pre-opening activities and adapt to evolving operational needs.
