Public Policy & Government Affairs
You will expand institutional presence in Brasília, lead legislative and regulatory engagement, and build high‑trust relationships with policymakers, regulators, and industry associations. You will monitor political and regulatory developments, draft position papers and briefings, translate policy into business impacts, and provide actionable guidance to internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Strengthen and maintain institutional presence in Brasília by representing the organization in engagements with policymakers, regulators, and public institutions
- Build and manage high‑trust relationships with central bank officials, congressional offices, executive agencies, and industry associations
- Monitor the federal political, regulatory, and legislative landscape focused on payments, financial services, digital economy, and AI
- Represent the organization in industry associations, working groups, public hearings, and regulatory consultations
- Draft position papers, proposals, and contributions to legislative and regulatory consultations
- Maintain and update stakeholder and political/regulatory risk maps
- Prepare briefings, talking points, decks, and backgrounders for interactions with authorities and institutional stakeholders
- Provide internal guidance on regulatory and policy trends to enable early risk mitigation and strategic decisions
- Translate public policy developments into clear business impacts and advocacy opportunities
- Support and execute advocacy strategies on instant payments, open finance, credit, AML/CFT, data protection, and AI
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in public policy, government affairs, regulatory relations, or institutional affairs
- Strong understanding of the Brazilian political, regulatory, and financial ecosystem and the legislative process
- Established relationships or proven ability to build connections with policymakers, regulators, associations, and public institutions
- Experience representing organizations in public hearings, meetings with regulators, and multi‑stakeholder working groups
- Ability to analyze regulatory and legislative texts and translate them into actionable business insights
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills
- Strategic mindset with a hands‑on, autonomous, and collaborative approach
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, International Relations, or related field (advanced degree a plus)
