Pump Operators, Tailings Management & Environmental Solutions (Northern Manitoba)

CEDA is looking to hire Pump Operators for multiple projects across Canada within our Tailings Management & Environmental Solutions division. We are looking to build our candidate pool and identify available personnel to support anticipated projects throughout August and September!

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain high-capacity pumps, pipelines, and fluid transfer systems.
  • Monitor flow rates, pressures, and system performance to ensure efficient dredging and tailings operations.
  • Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and minor mechanical repairs on pumps and associated equipment.
  • Support fluid management and tailings handling activities while maintaining environmental compliance.
  • Coordinate with dredge operators and supervisors to optimize production and system performance.
  • Identify and report equipment deficiencies, leaks, or operational issues and assist with corrective actions.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate operational, maintenance, and production records.
  • Ensure work areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and organized condition.
  • Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and company safety initiatives.
  • Assist with marine operations, material handling, and heavy equipment activities as required.

Role Specifications

  • 2+ year’s labour experience is an required
  • Valid class 5 driver’s licence is required
  • Valid ECS CSO certification (or combination of CSTS-09 and OSSA Regional or BSO)
  • Standard First aid, fall arrest, training is beneficial
  • Valid Pleasure craft operator card is an asset
  • Comfortable working on and around open bodies of water
  • Prior experience with pumps, centrifuge systems or dredging and dewatering is an asset
  • Experience around heavy equipment (Loader, Dozer, Excavator, Backhoe) is an asset
  • Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
