We are looking for a Purchasing Manager

What will you do?

Lead the operational purchasing team to ensure the timely availability of electronic materials and components for manual assembly, through the efficient execution of purchase orders and their follow-up, ensuring production continuity and compliance with manufacturing plans.

How will you do it?

The role focuses on execution, coordination, and leadership; it excludes price negotiation.

Team Leadership and Management (High Priority)

  • Lead, develop, and evaluate the team of buyers/expediters.
  • Set clear priorities aligned with the daily/weekly production plan.
  • Ensure operational discipline in placing and tracking purchase orders.
  • Implement work routines (daily meetings, tracking critical items, escalations).
  • Develop team capabilities in MRP, supplier management, and problem-solving.
  • Foster a culture of urgency, accountability, and execution.

Operational Supply Management

  • Ensure proper execution of MRP for electronic materials (PCB, components, connectors, etc.).
  • Oversee the creation and release of purchase orders.
  • Guarantee accuracy in specifications, quantities, and required dates.

Critical Follow-up and Expediting

  • Lead daily tracking of critical materials for production (shortages).
  • Ensure the team anticipates shortage risks.
  • Escalate delivery issues with suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate immediate actions to prevent line stoppages.

Production Support (Manual Assembly Focus)

  • Prioritize materials according to production sequencing and workload on manual lines.
  • Ensure availability of complete kits for assembly.
  • Respond quickly to production schedule changes.

Supplier Operational Management

  • Monitor delivery performance (OTD, quantity compliance, lead time).
  • Manage operational incidents (delays, partial deliveries, incorrect materials).
  • Coordinate with the sourcing/negotiation team on contractual matters (without involvement in pricing).

Inventory Control

  • Maintain optimal levels while avoiding:
  • Line stoppages due to shortages
  • Excess inventory and obsolescence (critical in electronics)
  • Ensure proper management of high-turn materials and long lead-time items.

Crisis and Escalation Management

  • Act as the central point in critical supply situations.
  • Lead shortage follow-up meetings with production and planning.
  • Make quick decisions to mitigate operational impacts.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Line stoppages due to material shortages (zero tolerance)
  • Supplier OTD % (On-Time Delivery)
  • Production plan adherence (material availability)
  • Inventory level vs. target
  • Open order backlog
  • Response time to shortages
  • Team performance (productivity, compliance)

What are we looking for?

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics, Logistics, or related field.
  • 5–8 years in supply chain within electronics industry or manufacturing.
  • Direct experience supporting assembly lines (ideally manual).
  • Experience leading operational purchasing teams.
  • Conversational English.

Technical Knowledge

  • MRP / ERP (SAP preferred)
  • Electronic components and BOMs
  • High-variability material planning
  • Inventory and obsolescence control
  • Lead times and international logistics (desirable)
