QA Engineer

Ding is the global leader in cross-border value transfer. Since 2006, we’ve moved more than $6BN across borders — putting money directly into the hands of diaspora communities so they can support the families they left behind. Today, we operate in 160+ countries, partner with 600+ mobile operators, and serve some of the world’s most underserved markets with technology that is fast, reliable and genuinely life changing.

We’re headquartered in Dublin and built by a team of 200+ people spread across the globe — engineers, operators and product thinkers who believe that moving value across borders should be as simple as sending a message.

We move fast, build with purpose, and hold ourselves to four values:

  • We’re Here to Make a Difference
  • We are Thinkers, Linkers & Doers
  • We Win Together
  • We Imagine Boldly & Build Fast

THE ROLE:

Job Title : QA Engineer

Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh
Type of Contract: Full Time Employee
Salary Range: Negotiable

About the Role:

The QA Engineer will report to the QA Team Lead. You will have the responsibility for proving quality across the full range of ding’s top-up products and mobile operator interfaces. Working closely with the development team, you will have exposure to an online transaction processing system, web UI, mobile application, API and database testing. You’ll help to improve the quality of production releases through manual testing and gain exposure to our QA automation frameworks. You will also be using advanced technologies in our Cloud infrastructures. Working across different teams, you will engage with Product Managers and Business Analysts helping to develop specifications with a user-first approach. Soft skills such as good communication and the ability to determine whether a software release should proceed are also important. At Ding, you will be joining at a really exciting time where we expand our product offerings into new spaces that will bring new learning experiences, and a strong sense of collaboration across the entire technology ecosystem.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead manual testing efforts for mobile applications (iOS and Android) and web UI, ensuring implementation is accurate to product specifications and delivers an excellent customer experience.
  • Be comfortable with interacting with our API layers, supporting the end-to-end testing efforts, validating request/response contracts, test edge cases and error handling, and integrate API checks into regression cycles.
  • Write and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity, investigate backend behaviour, and support root cause analysis of defects.
  • Drive quality from the start through spec reviews, early defect identification, and clear escalation of risks to product and engineering stakeholders.
  • Contribute to and maintain regression suites, working closely with automation engineers to ensure manual test cases are candidates for automation coverage.
  • Report accurate, well-evidenced bugs in Gherkin format, with clear reproduction steps, severity assessment, and supporting logs or data.
  • Monitor application logs during testing to detect anomalies, investigate potential defects, and distinguish environmental issues from genuine bugs.
  • Champion quality standards across the team, promoting a shift-left mindset and pushing for quality considerations to be embedded in delivery planning.
  • Use Agile methodologies to make autonomous decisions, manage your own workflow, and contribute to frequent, high-quality releases.
  • Build and maintain a deep understanding of Ding’s multi-tiered, high-dependency architecture, including mobile, web, API, and backend systems.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 3-5 years experience in a software testing role, ideally within a fast-paced product or fintech environment.
  • Strong, demonstrable mobile app testing experience across iOS and Android, with a thorough understanding of mobile-specific test considerations (device fragmentation, OS versions, network conditions).
  • Proven experience testing web UIs with a sharp eye for implementation accuracy and cross-browser/cross-device behaviour.
  • Hands-on API testing experience: able to design, execute, and document API test cases using tools such as Postman or similar.
  • Experience writing accurate, concise bug reports in Gherkin format.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to advocate clearly for quality across engineering and product teams.
  • Comfortable operating in an Agile environment with frequent release cycles and a high degree of autonomy

Desired requirements

  • Experience with automation frameworks (Selenium, Appium, Jmeter)
  • Ability to interrogate databases using SQL.
  • Experience gained in an online transaction processing environment.
  • Experience testing across high dependency multi-tiered applications.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree such as Software Engineering, Computer Science or related

YOU WILL LOVE WORKING AT DING IF:

  • You want your work to mean something. We move real money for real people — families sending support across borders, communities staying connected. You care about that.
  • You thrive with ownership, not instruction. At Ding, you’ll shape the work, not just deliver it. We move fast and trust people to figure things out.
  • You’re energised by complexity. We operate across 160+ countries, 600+ operator relationships and some of the most challenging last-mile infrastructure on the planet. That excites you.
  • You want to work with people who are sharp, direct and genuinely collaborative. No politics, no silos — just a team that gets things done and backs each other.
  • You’re comfortable with ambiguity and know how to make progress anyway. We’re still building the playbook in many areas, and you’re the kind of person who writes it rather than waits for it.

LIFE AT DING:

We’re building something that genuinely matters — and we want the environment to reflect that. You’ll get real ownership from day one, work with a diverse global team across 25+ nationalities, and be part of a culture that is high-performance without being high-ego.
