QC Lab Technician
Lab Technicians are responsible for attaining and controlling the quality status of raw and finished product in the Laminate Flooring plant. They are responsible for conducting all on-going quality audits, inspections, and lab tests. This position is also responsible for inspecting all incoming raw material, completing proper documentation, and inputting all required data into a computerized database.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform routine quality audits of the pressing and finishing departments
• Inspect all incoming raw material to be sure the material meets quality expectations
• Conduct and document finished goods inspections and evaluations
• Communicate all test results accurately to the Shift Supervisor and Quality Manager
• Identify, designate and document down grading of inspected material
• Log, evaluate and report all quality data
• Input all quality data into required computerized data system
• Perform all required lab tests on an established basis and to established standards
• Identify root cause of issues during production and document issues on required logs
• Follow up on issues assigned to this position through the action log
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
• High school diploma or G.E.D
• Basic computer skills
• The ability to identify root cause of issues during production, document issues, and follow up
• The ability to read and understand drawings
• Excellent attendance record
• Ability to handle multiple priorities, stress, provide detailed work, sound reasoning, and meet required deadlines
• The ability to be flexible in duties, analytical and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to be exceptionally self-motivated and directed, organized, and a keen attention to detail
• The ability to work consistently on a concrete plant production floor and in multiple (hot, cold, dirty, etc.) environmental conditions
• Good vision with or without corrective lenses
• The ability to be available for on-call and periodic overtime
• The ability to work a 12 hour rotating (days/nights) shift including weekends and holidays
• The ability to frequently bend, lift (minimum 50 lbs unassisted), stand for extended periods of time, kneel and move for extended periods of time
• The ability to have dexterity of hands and fingers to utilize appropriate equipment and tools
