QC & Technical Manager
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Assurance
- Lead and manage the QC laboratory team, overseeing daily testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods
- Establish, implement, and maintain quality management systems (ISO 9001) across manufacturing operations
- Develop and enforce QC procedures, work instructions, and testing protocols
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCR), corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and internal audits
- Ensure all products comply with local and international standards (SS, BS EN, ASTM, etc.)
- Oversee calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
Technical Management
- Provide technical guidance on product formulation, raw material qualification, and process improvement
- Adapt and localise Mapei global formulations to meet Southeast Asian climate, regulatory, and market requirements
- Evaluate and approve new raw material suppliers through technical assessment and trial runs
- Support the Product Development team in new product launches and reformulations
- Prepare and maintain technical datasheets, safety data sheets (SDS), and product specifications
Customer & Sales Support
- Serve as the key technical point of contact for customers, distributors, and contractors
- Conduct site visits, product trials, and troubleshooting for application issues
- Provide pre- and post-sales technical support and training to customers and internal sales teams
- Handle customer complaints, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure products meet relevant certifications and regulatory requirements across the region (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, etc.)
- Manage product registration and certification processes with local authorities
- Maintain compliance with environmental, health & safety (EHS) standards in the laboratory
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the QC and technical team
- Set KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and build team capability
- Liaise with Mapei's global R&D and QC centres for knowledge transfer and best practices
