Job Description

Summary of Major Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day QHSSE advice and active assistance within their Business Unit, department, vessel and or project. Ensuring that good standards and practices are identified, developed, implemented, and adhered to. Office, vessel or projected based.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development, maintenance, implementation and internal communication of the Integrated Management System; and actively participate in continuous improvement projects within the organization as requested to ensure progression of best practices.
  • Provide QHSSE support for project management and operations support within assigned Business and Service Lines.
  • Assist project management in preparing QHSSE plans (HSSE Interface documents, Project HSSE Plans, Emergency Response and Preparedness Plans, etc.).
  • Monitor, maintain and promote QHSSE-related KPI’s.
  • Train employees and lead discussions on QHSSE topics.
  • Monitor and promote HSSE Observation process.
  • Input and manage QHSSE data in IMPACT system (incident reporting, HSSE observations, action items, etc.).
  • Facilitate and participate in incident investigations as required serving as Lead Investigator in some investigations.
  • Drive closure of all QHSSE reports and action items as assigned.
  • Facilitate and participation in HIRA/HAZID meetings.
  • Interact and engage directly with external clients, vendors, subcontractors and industry organizations as a representative of Fugro.
  • Liaise with project HSSE Techs and paramedics for potential reporting of incidents/injuries.
  • Attend/conduct safety meetings in offices, shops/warehouses, vessels, and job sites.
  • Conduct jobsite and facility HSSE inspections on a regular basis.
  • Track QHSSE aspects for statistical analysis.
  • Participate in audit and inspection programs.
  • Become a member of the local Emergency Response Team and support local facility HSSE duties.
  • Ability to fulfill lead role with QHSSE-related matters with clients, regulatory agencies, inspections, safety tours, incident management, etc.
  • Assist Country Manager with formulation, implementation, promotion, and follow-up QHSSE objectives.

Qualifications

  • Possess a HSSE related, Industrial Technology, or Industrial Engineering degree.
  • At least five (5) years in QHSSE or related experience.
  • Professional certification in QHSSE preferred.
  • Certifications preferred, but not required include:
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
    • Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
    • Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST)
    • Certified Environmental, Safety and Health Trainer (CET)
    • American Society for Quality (ASQ) certifications
    • Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) qualifications
  • Ability to obtain various instructor certification for training disciplines.
  • Ability to visit offshore vessels routinely and occasionally sail with the vessel to provide HSSE support.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Proficient in professional and technical writing.
  • Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel.
  • Must be able to travel and work remotely on project job sites, including onboard an offshore vessel.
  • Knowledge of industry standard safety programs/processes (HSSE Observations, Management of Change, Behavior Based Safety, Permit to Work, Stop Work Authority, etc.).
