Quality Engineer
Overview
As a Quality Engineer, reporting to the Operations Manager, you will influence business success by applying your extensive quality background and expertise in quality assurance and quality control within a high-tech industry. Your work will impact all phases of production and distribution. You will support planning activities and deliverables for ongoing release cycles; supporting an exciting new range of products; carry out tasks and activities across production along with supporting the engineering department at times.
Responsibilities
Key Areas of Responsibilities and Associated Duties
- Collaborate with corporate and local management in the development of goals and long-term initiatives for the Quality Management System at Hexagon
- Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day quality control systems and processes that provide visibility into quality KPIs and our progress toward quality objectives
- Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment.
- Analyzes production limitations and standards.
- Recommends revision of specifications when indicated.
- Formulates or assists in formulating quality control policies and procedures.
- Works with the organization to design the lowest cost, highest efficiency, and highest quality products.
- Drives quality improvement and cost reduction.
- Ability and Knowledge to conduct Root Cause Analysis through various industrial techniques. 8D, A3, DMAIC, DMEDI, etc…
- Provides assembly support and resolves build issues.
- Ensure the management of non-conformities, customer complaints and the implementation of corrective actions
Qualifications
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Accountable, dependable, and results-oriented
- Two years preferably a three-year College diploma in Electronics Engineering
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds
- An advanced working knowledge of Excel and Document Control Systems
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment would be considered an asset.
