Quality Inspector (Machining Facility)
Job Summary.
QC Inspector, to be responsible for all QA/QC related activities in the threading/machining facility for machine components. Performing assessment, quality record keeping, and organizational tasks to support the efficiency and effectiveness of the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITYIES:
- Receiving inspection and verification of incoming materials as per specification
- To Perform Inspection and verify that 10% of each threaded connection/part is compliant with drawing.
- Responsible for acceptance or rejection of machined/finished parts
- To assist machinist on technical issues related to quality.
- Be familiar with required standards/procedures and specifications pertaining to quality requirements.
- Responsible for arranging qualification/requalification of Premium connection & the validation control of premium connections.
- Use GP portal for job authorizations, generating electronic procurement forms and calibration requests.
- Create and maintain daily activity logs and process paperwork.
- Perform additional (reasonable) duties as required by the Operations Supervisor
- Verify Phosphate connection as per WI and procedure & ensure phosphate process is controlled.
- Perform daily titration as per WI and procedure.
- Ensure phosphate operators understand and comply with full process, provide guidance where necessary.
- Perform job duties accurately and be responsible, verify parts and work order. Assist shop, assembly, and personnel in determining causes for faulty materials or assemblies. Assist in everyday department operations including training of other employees as deemed necessary by manager.
- Control of Calibration cycle, calibration of gauges/instrument & review of calibration certificates.
- MTC review of procured and customer supplied materials.
- Provide customer with drawing for manufactured products.
- Review work order/specifications for each order received.
- Final inspection of serviced goods and issuance of COC
- Ensure Tubular tracking sheet is accurate, updated and maintained.
- Ensure all quality records are maintained and organized to a high level.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED:
- High school education or equivalent, Diploma or Degree in Engineering - preferred.
- Must have a minimum 2-year experience in Rotatory Shoulder Connections inspection (API, Grant Prideco, Tenaris etc.) on Drill pipe, HWDP, Drill Collars and Drill Stem Components, or a similar background.
- Good command on English Language in reading, writing, and speaking. Good machine shop technical knowledge.
- Be able to read and interpret specifications and drawings to API, Grant Prideco, DS1, VAM etc.
