Job Summary/Purpose

The Quality Lead will be an individual with experience in Quality in Manufacturing Environment. The key purpose of this role is to lead and support the quality employees on B shift to support quality activities for production as well as help in the process of quality issue resolution. Via active involvement in various management practices (e.g. DM, MRB, Audit) compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements, and problem solving sessions, this role can significantly help support the PPE scrap reduction initiatives and support quality supervisor and manager on more strategic focus. The position emphasizes continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and results-oriented leadership to achieve business objectives.

Essential Duties

  • Lead and develop the quality team through training, coaching, and mentoring to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures.
  • Drive employee engagement and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Checks status of Hot Jobs and manage Quality Inspectors work priority
  • Supports activity to ensure shifts are well staffed to cover planned PTOs
  • Represents Quality Department in shop floor Daily Management to communicate quality metric and issues as we all take actions necessary to maintain quality
  • Reviews daily scrap fallout of responsible areas and M.R.B (Material Review Board) held parts and dispositions.
  • Participates in problem solving processes with cross functional team to find root cause for internal and external (customer) nonconformances and help team formulate preventative and corrective action
  • Responsible for general communication of internal quality issues via quality alert or escalation to management
  • Communicate promptly to responsible authority of products or processes that do not conform to requirements to ensure that nonconforming product is not shipped to the customer and that all potential nonconforming product is identified and contained
  • Review and escalate quality control test result failures or process audit findings and participate in corrective action
  • As part of the receiving inspection- ensures all the incoming raw materials are qualified timely for production run, and escalates any supplier quality issues to Finance Team, Production Team, Quality Management and Purchasing Team.
  • Coordinates training of new quality team members as well as refresher training for existing quality team members
  • Support plant yield improvement initiatives
  • Supports and performs tool qualification and NPD sample measurements
  • Has the authority to stop shipment and hold production on jobs with issues to correct quality problems
  • Has the responsibility and authority for controlling quality as delegated by management.
  • Maintains good, safe work habits and housekeeping
  • Ensures that the quality management system conforms to the ISO 9001 & 14001 requirements
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce waste.
  • Enforce safety and 5S standards within the quality department.
  • Act as a liaison between quality, production, and engineering teams to ensure alignment on specifications and standards.

Working Environment

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Employee may work in a loud environment.
  • Employee will work in cleanroom environment with proper gowning
  • Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times in the manufacturing area.

Physical Requirements

  • Movement about the cell, standing, sitting
  • Reaching, hand/finger manipulation
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 yrs previous experience in a manufacturing environment within Quality department
  • Ability to understand and use Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate well, both verbally and written
  • Proficiency in quality tools such as SPC, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Certifications such as ASQ CQI/CQT or Six Sigma are a plus.

Scheudle

  • Schedule for this role will be Monday- Thursday 8:00pm - 6:30am
  • OT may be required for business purposes
