Role Description\:

In this role you will provide Quality Management subject matter expertise and Quality leadership to the Artillery, Tank, and Mortar IDT, to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. You will co-ordinate quality initiatives and activities that span across the IDT functions and/or Site Quality teams and support the resolution of quality issues relevant to products within the IDT.

Core Duties\:

  • Quality Management SME and leadership role within Artillery, Tank, and Mortar (ATM) IDT, ensuring compliance to specifications + quality standards (e.g. ISO 9001) within the ATM IDT
  • Co-ordinate IDT quality initiatives and activities that span across the IDT and/or Site Quality, and provide Quality SME input in to Engineering, PM, and Product Assurance functions and represent the Quality function in relevant IDT meetings
  • Provide Quality SME input into Supply Chain reviews for materials relevant to the IDT (including SQA Technical Reviews, PO reviews, Investigations in the supply chain, and other SQA initiatives)
  • Perform internal quality audits, and support external quality audits from export customers, and provide quality assurance oversight of Product and Process Trials within the ATM IDT
  • Support the development and analysis of quality metrics relevant to the IDT
  • Support the resolution of any quality issues arising in the IDT, including the appropriate use of the non-conformance management methods (AAR, Q1, Q2, Q3, 8D) and the development of robust corrective actions which prevent identified problems from ever recurring
  • Review of quality requirements for products within the IDT (standards, technical specifications, drawings, contractual requirements) and development of Quality Plans for export contracts

Essential Skills\:

  • You will hold a degree qualification in a desirable discipline (Science / Engineering / Manufacturing / Aerospace), or be time-served in an Engineering discipline with substantial experience and supporting qualifications
  • You will demonstrate experience managing Quality Systems in a manufacturing environment of a similarly highly controlled nature (aerospace, automotive, nuclear, pharma, medical devices, etc.)
  • You will demonstrate experience with statistical control methods and systems, with a proven ability to implement and apply them appropriately (e.g. Six Sigma Black Belt with project completion)
  • You will demonstrate knowledge of working in a production environment with mission- or safety-critical aspects and associated compliance requirements
  • You will demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge and enthusiasm; product knowledge and familiarity with IDT systems would be advantageous

Integrated Delivery Team (IDT)\:

You will work with both the ATM IDT and the Site Quality Teams to tackle challenges relevant to the ATM product portfolio, which includes products such as 81mm Mortar, 120mm Tank, 105mm L31, 155mm L15, and support to future developments such as the new Melt Cast Facility.
