Quality Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and improve company-wide quality management systems.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Product Management, and others to interpret, build upon, and comply with company quality control and quality assurance standards and systems.
  • Use data to drive root cause problem solving across a variety of activities.
  • Lead the deployment and sustainment of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies across manufacturing and operational processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, improve quality, increase productivity, and deliver measurable business results.
  • Chairs Material Review Board and oversees daily disposition of contained product.
  • Interface with customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee quality laboratory and day-to-day operations and performance of Quality department.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities that result in improved KPI performance (lab turnaround time, scrap rates, material hold improvement, etc.)
  • Introduces and implements structured tools and methods for continuous improvement in manufacturing and supply chain.
  • Drive bottom line performance improvement in any operational area (quality, safety, productivity, etc.).
  • Design, develop, and apply best in class systems in both operations and Lean/Six Sigma.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop employees while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and data-driven problem solving.
  • Develops appropriate KPIs and operational metrics, particularly regarding quality and improvement activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of people-management experience.
  • At least 5 years of quality management and continuous improvement experience in an operational environment.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in operations management, quality management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in technical management or operational management role.
  • Experience working with international organizations and regional/global responsibilities.
  • Strong ISO auditing experience (internal or external auditor).
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments involving:
    • Injection molding
    • Extrusion
    • Heavy industrial equipment
    • Robotics
    • Machine vision systems
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

  • Position is based onsite and requires regular in-office presence; occasional travel of approximately 10–15% may be required to support business operations, customer visits, supplier audits, training, or multi-site initiatives.
  • Exposure to machine noise.
  • Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production area.
  • Working conditions are normal for a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds and working in and around heavy equipment.
  • Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and work boots.
  • This role may require walking in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
