R&D Food Technology, Culinary Innovation Intern

Overview We are looking for a highly motivated R&D Food Technology, Culinary Innovation Intern to join our Food Ventures Innovation team for a 6-month internship based in Barcelona. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of an innovative culinary solution, bridging food science, engineering, and culinary applications. You will play an active role in both kitchen and laboratory environments, helping shape product and process development from early experimentation through to scale-up recommendations. Responsibilities Design and plan experimental trials at both kitchen and lab scale Execute hands-on testing and experiments in kitchen and laboratory settings Conduct product characterization, including: Physical analysis Chemical analysis Sensory evaluation Analyze experimental data and prepare clear reports Provide recommendations for process scale-up and product development Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to innovation projects Qualifications Degree in: Engineering (food, chemical, process, or related field), or Master’s degree in Food Science or related discipline Strong interest in culinary applications and food innovation Comfortable working in both lab and kitchen environments Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with a good level of autonomy Strong communication and reporting skills Fluent in English and Spanish (required) Additional Information Based in Barcelona with potential travel to our factory in Murcia and Girona Hands-on role with real impact on product and process development Exposure to both R&D and industrial application environments
