Job title- R&D Technician III

Location: Mansfield, MA
Duration: 12+ months (Possibility of extension)


Job Description:

· They are not looking for a printed circuit board technician.

· This person should be more mechanically inclined overall.

· Associates degree is preferred, but not required. Comparable experience will be considered.

· The R&D technician will support new product development of pneumatic compression systems for Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) prevention.

· The activities performed will support both the creation and testing of DVT garments, and assembly and testing controller systems and their components.

· Prototype garment construction uses RF welding techniques and manual assembly. Those garments, once assembled will need testing of their inflation parameters and durability.

· The controller work may include some manual assembly, testing of pneumatic and electrical components and system testing.

· The technician will work with R&D Engineers to implement testing protocols in support of new product development.

· Test results will documented in lab notebooks or data logs using established notebook practices.

· Additionally, there may be opportunity to participate in new product development brainstorming sessions and team meetings.

Requirements

· The ideal candidate should be able to work in a lab environments and be self-motivated, and be comfortable with the constantly changing priorities of a product development team.

· The candidate should be familiar and comfortable with using various types of manufacturing assembly and test equipment.

· This may include, but not limited to RF welding equipment, soldering tools, material testing, pneumatics, environmental equipment..

· It is desirable to have some experience with pneumatics and testing of pneumatic characteristics such as pressure, leak rates and flow.

· He/she must be able to work with Research and Development engineers and technicians in the implementation of assembly and test methods as applied to products under development.

· Clear accurate communication of results, findings, and observations is important.

· Good written and verbal skills are therefore essential.

· Proficiency is required in Microsoft Word and Excel is expected.

Background Preferred:

· Associates Degree in a technical degree (Engineering, Science, Technology)
