Raw Materials Specialist

The Raw Materials Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory and material flow for all inbound raw materials. This role ensures proper receiving, documentation, storage, and reconciliation of raw materials while supporting production needs and maintaining compliance with internal standards. The specialist works closely with warehouse, quality, and production teams to protect data integrity, prevent material shortages, and uphold operational discipline across the raw materials area.

Key Responsibilities

· Ensure all inbound raw material receipts are accurately recorded, labeled, and stored according to established procedures.

· Conduct routine inventory checks and cycle counts to maintain alignment between physical inventory and system records.

· Collaborate with the Compliance Specialist to validate raw material inventories at exterior warehouses.

· Coordinate with production, quality, and logistics teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate material availability.

· Manage raw material staging for production, including timely issuance, documentation, and return of unused materials.

· Support month end and quarter end inventory counts with accurate reporting and reconciliation.

· Maintain documentation and audit trails for all raw material adjustments, investigations, and material movements.

· Assist in identifying and correcting root causes of inventory variances and support continuous improvement initiatives.

· Communicate with third party logistics partners when raw material validation, testing, or reconciliation is required.

· Uphold housekeeping, safety, and compliance standards within the raw materials area.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Raw Materials Supervisor or Warehouse Operations Manager.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred.

· Two or more years of experience in warehouse operations, raw materials handling, or inventory control.

· Strong understanding of material flow, warehouse systems, and compliance requirements.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse management systems. Experience with Oracle, MES, or TMS platforms is preferred.

· Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.

· Comfortable working in warehouse environments with varying temperatures.
