Reality Capture Manager

The Reality Capture Manager supports survey, laser scanning, and drone operations by producing high-quality CAD, BIM and REVIT deliverables. This role leads Scan-to-BIM, Survey-to-BIM, CAD production, and survey layout support, bridging field data with downstream design and construction workflows. The position combines hands-on production with technical leadership and quality control.

Salary Range: $110,000-140,000

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, mentor, and supervise local team in support of project delivery.

  • Develop BIM and CAD models from survey data, laser scans, and photogrammetry.

  • Produce Scan-to-BIM and Survey-to-BIM deliverables at required LOD.

  • Prepare layout-ready models and drawings for robotic total station workflows.

  • Coordinate with survey, scanning, and UAV teams to ensure proper data capture.

  • Perform scan registration and processing.

  • Perform quality control on models and drawings.

  • Support BIM coordination and client model review meetings.

  • Develop and maintain modeling standards, templates, and libraries.

  • Interpret design documents including drawings, models, specifications needed to develop models and layout drawings.

  • Collaborate with field crews to provide visualizations, ensure constructability, and pursue model-to-field workflows.

  • Promote a culture of virtual building among internal and external stakeholders.

  • Participate in the general contractor’s issue tracking platform and manage the resolution of coordination issues.

  • Meet regularly with the project team to provide updates on deliverables.

  • Participate in BIM coordination meetings with project teams, clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors.

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of model asset libraries, including standard families and details.

  • Support the integration of BIM and reality capture technologies into project workflows and construction planning.

  • Attend site visits to support the project team as needed.

Qualifications:

Position Related Skills

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Recap, Cyclone 3DR, Register 360, Navisworks.

  • Proficiency with leveraging BIM throughout a project’s lifecycle to support project requirements.

  • Experience developing and maintaining Revit content libraries and modeling standard procedures.

  • Experience working with point cloud data.

  • Demonstrated Scan-to-BIM or Survey-to-BIM experience.

  • Strong understanding of survey tolerances and coordinate systems.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret project documents, including drawings and specifications.

  • Strong mathematical skills with the ability to calculate accurate dimensions and quantities.

  • Excellent communication skills in English (read, write, and speak).

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and follow through on assignments.

  • Willingness to take ownership of drawings and models to ensure the highest levels of quality and accuracy.

  • Ability to participate in field coordination meetings at both the main office and construction sites.

  • Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Visio)

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of construction layout.

  • Experience developing CAD and Revit standards and content libraries.

  • Background in surveying, geomatics, or construction technology.

  • Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (Forma), Bluebeam, Procore, Newforma, Smartsheet, and other document management systems.

  • Fundamental understanding of current building codes.

  • Vision: Visual acuity in near, mid and far range vision. Color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, hand/eye coordination.

  • Hearing: Sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone and radio; sufficient to hear alarms on equipment.

  • Speech: Sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone and radio.

  • Lift/Carry: Up to 50lb computer/drawings- minimal.

  • Bending/Twisting: Minimal.

  • Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: Minimal.

  • Constant mental alertness, accuracy, and attention to detail required.
