Receptionist/Cashier - Bayview Hospital

Summary:

The successful candidate will handle basic clerical duties, including answering and transferring calls, greeting patients and visitors, managing incoming and outgoing mail, taking messages, and providing information about Bayview Hospital 2014 Ltd. and its services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist visitors in person and by phone; answering inquiries and directing to appropriate staff; relaying calls to patients.
  • Provide information to patients, families, and internal teams.
  • Manage patient admissions and process payments for services.
  • Enter patient and payment details into the Hospital Management System.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and support smooth hospital operations.
  • Maintain inventory by monitoring stock and placing supply orders.
  • Handle and secure all cash, cheques, and electronic payments.
  • Issue receipts and accurately record all transactions in the system.


Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of four (4) CXC passes at General Proficiency including English Language and Mathematics, or
  • A combination of experience, education and/or training which substantially demonstrates the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills; knowledge of Sage an asset.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology.
  • Strong time-management and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Heart Savers Certification an asset.
