What is the opportunity?
RBC Global Asset Management (UK) Limited is seeking a capable Associate to join the Operations Control team within our Operations department, based in our London office. The team is responsible for producing reconciliations across cash balances, transactions, positions (stock and listed derivatives), and intra-system reconciliations.
You will play a pivotal role by ensuring the validity and integrity of data used in our reconciliations, producing reconciliation reporting, and driving operational enhancements. Beyond day-to-day reconciliation work, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to strategic process improvements that support the broader operations function—making a tangible impact on how we operate at scale.

This is a permanent, full-time role and requires 4 days in the Bishopsgate office.
What will you do?
Produce daily reconciliations of cash, positions, and transactions between our internal systems and external parties (custodians, clearing agents, prime brokers), adhering to established timelines.
Review daily processes to identify and address trends or concerns with breaks.
Assist in resolving position issues raised by Investment Teams or Finance, investigating as necessary to identify root causes.
Work closely with external vendors to understand trade flow requirements, bank ledger postings, and cash payment deadlines.
Collaborate with internal teams to support the full client lifecycle, starting with fund onboarding.
Recommend and support implementation of system improvements to increase efficiency and mitigate risk.
Take full ownership of your work, maintaining awareness of system upgrades, enhancements, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Contribute to ad-hoc and scheduled projects as we migrate to new platforms, driving process improvements.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Experience in a Reconciliation Analyst role or similar position within the financial services industry, with a particular focus on cash and stock reconciliations preferred.
Prior use of reconciliation systems such as SmartStream TLM, Intellimatch, Broadridge, or similar tools.
Ability to operate within a control framework under time-sensitive deadlines.
Strong organisational skills.
Good communication and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
A proactive, self-starter mindset with a logical approach to problem-solving and a dependable work ethic.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, taking ownership of assigned tasks and delivering with urgency.
Nice-to-have
Experience with ETD (Exchange Traded Derivatives) and OTC reconciliation processes.
Familiarity with exposure reconciliation through Tri-Resolve.
Experience with EMIR portfolio reconciliation.
Knowledge of fixed-income assets and derivative products.
Working knowledge of MT535/MT940/MT950/CAMT.053 SWIFT messages and custodian flat files used for reconciliation. Experience with MX message base is advantageous.
