Recording Engineer Supervisor

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of recording techniques and the ability to record ADR sessions efficiently and in an organized fashion
  • Work with Coordinators and Directors to maintain established production schedule
  • Edit and conform sessions to updated picture
  • Advanced knowledge of VoiceQ is a plus
  • Prepare screeners for linguistic QC, when necessary
  • Assist Coordinators in estimating work hour requirements for completion of projects
  • Remain sensitive to client needs and adjust to new project specifications and deadlines
  • Be able to communicate directly with clients in a professional manner
  • Participate in meetings and speak to technical aspects of audio production
  • Report any issues with source material promptly for quick replacement (audio/video drop-outs, audio glitches, distortions, sync problems, missing lines and all the other errors spotted)
  • Monitor quality of all deliverables to maintain consistency and verify that all special production instructions have been followed prior to delivery
  • Be an active part of improving workflows and identifying and correcting production inefficiencies
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product, if needed
  • Recruit, train and supervise audio engineer resources in SOPs and Best Practices
  • Analyze and track post-delivery rejections related to technical issues and provide detailed and timely feedback that can be relayed to the client, as well as action items to correct and avoid such issues
  • Monitor and review performance and provide timely feedback to promote quality
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and assist in updating and maintaining audio equipment (hardware and software)
  • Document technical specifications, instructions and best practices
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned
  • Must work overtime and weekends when needed

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Mac, Pro Tools, VoiceQ, SessionlinkPRO, Source-Connect, Dante, Keyboard Maestro
  • Experience in and/or knowledge of localization dubbing preferred
  • Reliable team player that also works well independently with a hands-on approach and a can-do attitude
  • Understanding of audio and session formats and specifications
  • Knowledge of studio recording techniques
  • Ability to identify and solve technical problems with equipment
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work to tight deadlines under pressure
  • Friendly manner with clients, actors and colleagues
  • Excellent organization and time management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Extremely detailed oriented
  • Ability to work 40 (or more) hours per week to fulfill position duties and responsibilities

Salary $75,000-$80,000
