Recreation Assistant (Outdoor Adventure)
About the position: This position will be assigned to Moody AFB Outdoor Rec. Guaranteed 20 hours, but may work up to 40 hours per week. Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialists in the planning, organizing, and coordination of recurring & nonreoccurring activities
Responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all operations of the Outdoor Adventure program (Paintball, archery, & Mission Lake) facilities. Plans, organizes & coordinates the details of recurring & nonrecurring activities & special events, to include such activities as backpacking, rockclimbing, mountaineering, fishing, white water rafting, kayaking, caving, biking etc. Assist the supervisor by implementing higher level directives, fomulating procedures & programs to ensure high standards of recreation programs. Develops outdoor adventure programs designed to stimulate and sustain the interests of participants. Provides technical advice and assistance to participants regarding the various programs. Instructs and leads outdoor adventure trips, outdoor adventure shops, and clinics; trains volunteer staff as required. Resolves customer complaints, referring more technical complaints the to supervisor. Assists in developing marketing plans, NAF operating budgets, NAF Capital Expenditure budgets; provides input to supervisor and assists in analyzing financial results. Provides day-to-day oversight and work direction to assigned personnel. Identifies training needs and ensures training is received/completed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
