Recruiter (contract)

We are seeking a driven and experienced contract Recruiter to join our talent acquisition team, specifically focusing on critical manufacturing and engineering roles. You will proactively identify, engage, and nurture top-tier talent across various hardware manufacturing, assembly, and related engineering disciplines to support our fast-paced, innovative environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring teams to build effective sourcing, assessment, and closing approaches while managing customer/partner expectations through a deep understanding of return on investment.
  • Recruit passive candidates and possess the mentality to profile people and gauge the chemistry of candidates for fit, and understand their motivation," rather than sell a role.
  • Build and maintain networks of potential candidates through proactive market research and ongoing relationship management; conducts in-depth interviews of potential candidates, demonstrating the ability to anticipate hiring manager preferences through high offer-to-interview ratios.
  • Recommend ideas and strategies related to recruitment that will contribute to the long-range growth of the company, implementing new processes and fine-tuning processes for recruiting.
  • Participate in special projects/recruiting initiatives, including assessment of best practices in interviewing techniques, leveraging of internal sources of talent, and identification of top performers for senior-level openings.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Minimum of 4+ years in sourcing or recruiting, with a proven track record of hiring for complex manufacturing, production, or hardware engineering roles within high-tech.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing or hardware engineering sourcing within startups, defense, aerospace, automotive, complex hardware, or high-tech industries.
  • Expertise in using Greenhouse and LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Ability to execute a set recruiting strategy, including employer promotion in the marketplace, candidate management, diversity sourcing, and interview process management.
  • Strong client focus and commitment to continuous improvement; ability to proactively network and establish effective working relationships, must pursue conscious cost-containment efforts in recruiting, continually seek new sourcing options, and develop creative approaches to delivering candidates.
  • Possesses a strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a pipeline of both internal and external candidates.
  • Excellent communication skills with varying levels of stakeholders, organizational, negotiation, and consulting skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Self-sufficient and able to work with little direct supervision.
  • Possess analytical skills with the ability to create, measure, and scale the right workflow between candidates, hiring managers, and the recruiting team, communicating.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in manufacturing or hardware engineering sourcing within startups, defense, aerospace, automotive, complex hardware, or high-tech industries.
  • Strong understanding of hardware manufacturing processes and production methodologies
  • Highly self-sufficient with the ability to work autonomously and take initiative without requiring constant supervision.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in tackling challenges, quickly troubleshooting issues, and devising innovative solutions on the fly.
  • Communicates directly and succinctly, sharing information promptly to foster collaboration. Practices active listening and engages thoughtfully.
  • Values continuous learning, embraces honest feedback, and views setbacks as opportunities for growth and improvement.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, pull/push, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and skin exposure to chemicals used to run/maintain machines.

PPE-

May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, bump-caps, gloves, hair nets, masks, & clean-room frocks while adhering to the prescribed safety procedures.
