We are seeking an experienced Asset Manager to lead asset maintenance, compliance, contractor performance and capital improvement projects across our housing portfolio.
In this role, you will develop and implement asset management plans, oversee responsive and planned maintenance programs, ensure compliance with statutory and WHS requirements, and drive continuous improvement across asset management systems and processes. Working closely with Housing Services, Community Development teams, contractors and external stakeholders, you will deliver high-quality asset outcomes while supporting positive tenant experiences.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Lead the development and implementation of asset management and maintenance plans.
- Ensure properties are maintained to a high standard and comply with all regulatory, safety and certification requirements.
- Manage contractor procurement, performance, compliance and quality assurance activities.
- Oversee asset budgets, reporting, forecasting and data management.
- Deliver asset-related projects within agreed scope, budget and timelines.
- Conduct property inspections and monitor portfolio condition and performance.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, government agencies, contractors and industry stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement and promote an integrated service delivery approach across Housing, Assets and Community Development teams.
- Monitor operational performance and service delivery standards
- Foster a positive, customer-focused culture that promotes accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team through values-based leadership
- Support the implementation of operational policies, procedures and service improvements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, government agencies, community partners, housing providers and private sector stakeholders
Requirements for success
- Tertiary qualification in project management, property, asset management and/or experience managing complex projects
- Proven leadership and management experience
- Experience in strategic asset management and financial management
- Strong project management, organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Experience within the social and affordable housing sector will be highly regarded
- Experience driving operational performance, service delivery and continuous improvement initiatives
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, risks and organisational change
- Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- White Card Mandatory
