Registered Nurse - Mental Health
Are you an experienced Mental Health Nurse seeking regular night duty within a supportive private mental health setting? Ramsay Clinic Wentworthville is seeking passionate Registered Nurses to join our night shift roster on a permanent part-time or casual basis.
About the Role:
This opportunity is for 10-hour night shifts across a 7-day roster. Working across our specialist mental health units, you will provide safe, compassionate and recovery-oriented nursing care to patients experiencing a range of mental health conditions. The role offers the opportunity to strengthen your clinical capability in assessment, therapeutic engagement, risk identification, medication administration, escalation of deterioration and multidisciplinary care planning within a private hospital environment.
About You:
You will be confident working within a night duty roster and committed to providing high-quality mental health care that promotes safety, dignity and recovery. You will bring strong clinical judgement, clear communication, calm decision-making and the ability to respond appropriately to changing patient needs overnight.
Essential Requirements:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum RN3 level or equivalent experience, with at least 1 year of demonstrated mental health nursing experience.
- Relevant mental health qualification, certificate, postgraduate study or demonstrated specialist mental health capability.
- Sound understanding of contemporary mental health nursing practice, including recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and person-centred care.
- Demonstrated clinical skills in mental health assessment, risk identification, crisis response, escalation and therapeutic communication.
- Ability to work effectively and independently overnight while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.
- Current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one.
- Working with Children Check and evidence of required immunisations, in line with role and organisational requirements.
- Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing or current enrolment in mental health specialty study.
- Experience working in private mental health, acute mental health, addictions, eating disorders, trauma-informed care or inpatient recovery programs.
- Knowledge of relevant mental health legislation, clinical risk frameworks and safe overnight escalation processes.
