JOB SUMMARY
- Work as a team with another RN and our Residential Program staff to ensure that individuals served in CCAR Industries’ eight group homes (2-6 residents per home) receive quality care and that their medical needs are met.
- Responsible for coordinating nursing services for our eight residential homes and three day programs, including medication administration.
- Become a Registered Nurse-Trainer of Medication Administration to train and provide oversight to the direct support staff who work in our group homes.
- Monitor accurate completion of medication administration tasks and all related documentation, including checking-in and distributing medication, tracking medication errors and reviewing MARs.
- The RN will be provided with an agency cell phone and laptop to use when they are on-call outside of standard business hours. The on-call responsibilities will be on rotation with the second RN to receive calls and respond to questions/concerns about medical needs of group home residents.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to drive in the daytime or at night
- Provide proof of an unencumbered Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
- One year of professional nursing clinical experience within the last 5 years, preferably in the field of developmental disabilities
- Must pass a criminal background check, as required by the Healthcare Worker Background Check Act (225 ILCS 46), and a DCFS Child Abuse and Neglect background check
- Must meet the qualifications to become a Registered Nurse-Trainer of Medication Administration in the Community in order to train and provide oversight to Direct Support Professionals who are qualified/authorized to safely administer medications to people with developmental disabilities
SCHEDULE
Primarily daytime on Monday – Friday with a 2-person on-call rotation for evenings and weekends.
WAGES
$75,000 - $77,000 per year
PAY SCHEDULE
Staff are paid every two weeks with a direct deposit option available upon request
