As a Compliance Specialist, you will play a key role in securing and maintaining third-party certifications for our global portfolio of fire suppression products. You’ll collaborate closely with external approval agencies and internal teams to ensure our products meet all required standards and remain compliant across markets. Our team is looking for someone who thrives in a structured, detail-oriented environment, brings strong project management skills, embraces continuous improvement, and communicates effectively to drive successful outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Independently lead compliance projects of simple to moderate technical complexity for UL, FM, LPCB, CSA, VdS, CSIRO, and CNBOP.
- Be the champion for engineering change orders by coordinating with other functions and shepherding requests through the process.
- Initiate engineering change orders as requested.
- Facilitate recurring follow-up surveillance audits from certifiers at the St. Louis area plant.
- Own the equivalent item authorization process for the business division to ensure rapid consideration and implementation of alternate components and vendors.
- Lead annual recertifications and renewals for the California State Fire Marshal (CSFM), Fire Department of New York (FDNY), and other local regulatory authorities.
- Take the lead in preparing test samples for all compliance projects where testing is to be conducted at an off-site test lab.
- Host and conduct remote video witness testing for compliance projects.
- Be responsible for providing country of origin, quality, test, build America/buy America, and related certificates to customers.
- Lead maintenance of all SafeSignal certifications and private label projects.
- Review and store supplier material certifications.
- Own the process and work associated with maintaining and providing restricted/hazardous substance information to customers associated with our portfolio of products.
- As requested, support the Quality Team with quality audits and continuous improvement activities.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives for the Compliance function.
- Acts as Project Manager for certain strategic projects for the division.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team goals and project milestones.
