Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Manager
Weatherford have a great opportunity for an experienced Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Manager to join the team in the Altens, Aberdeen office. The R&M Manager is responsible for all aspects operating the R&M Facility, including providing overall direction, planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution with regards to Safety, Quality and Cost with all direct and support employees at the facility. The R&M Manager will also be responsible for achieving the assigned Key Performance Indicators and Objectives defined timely to satisfy operational demands and business needs. This will be accomplished through consistent implementation and daily execution of our global R&M standards ensuring user compliance throughout the R&M cycle.
Responsibilities:
OPERATIONS
- Effectively manage cross functional relationships, expectations, and consistent communication with other departments to support effective use of manpower, materials, and equipment as well as drive productivity and to deliver on-time delivery (OTD) daily to the business needs.
- Interface with Company engineers, strategic sourcing, project management, human resources, logistics, customer service, and accounting personnel regarding facility operations, process optimization, methods development, personnel development, outside supplier development and performance, strategic project implementation, quotes, and order management for analyzing and preparing monthly financial reporting.
- Oversee planning and scheduling of production and authorize all necessary resources to meet OTD expectations within the facility’s and/or R&M budget.
- Develop and implement improvements to productivity, cost management and inventory management, including evaluating and maintaining appropriate levels of R&M parts responsible for OTD.
- Ensure proper use, care and preventive maintenance for all R&M workshop equipment providing optimal working condition and utilization to maximize personnel productivity minimizing repair cost and downtime impeding OTD.
- Responsible for the collaboration, implementation and executions of continuous improvement activities ensuring that Lean concepts are incorporated into the design, build and daily operations of the R&M facility locations which will drive optimized OTD and Cost.
- Various continuous improvement or development projects as assigned by manager.

- Supervisors and Managers should demonstrate effective safety leadership for the health and safety arrangements of all subordinates and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.
- Maintain appropriate Job Safety Analysis (JSA) / Hazard Risk Assessment (HRA) for all R&M workshop associated tasks ensuring all employees and tasks are carried out in a safe manner and condition providing an incident free environment.
- Conduct weekly Hazard Hunts to proactively identify, address, or mitigate opportunities to injure employees.
- Execute all other communicated HSE best practices timely and effectively as applicable to the facility.
QUALITY
- Responsible for being familiar with the Company’s Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford’s Management system.
- Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement.
- Understand and mitigate quality escapes, deliver solutions that will ensure there is a continuous effort to improve.
COMMUNICATION
- Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and external.
- Supervisors and Managers should clearly communicate expectations, roles, and responsibilities to their reports.
FINANCIAL
- All employees have an accountability to the organisation to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses.
- Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames and following the relevant financial policy and procedures.
- Effectively manage routine R&M projects to include establishing operating budgets, cost justification, quoting equipment and contractors, maintaining records, executing deliverables, meeting time and cost restraints.
- Full ownership of operating costs and reviews and controls expenditures at the facility to ensure the facility’s expenditures remain within annual budget expectations.
- Develop methods and solutions to deliver revenue improvements and margin enhancement through systematic cost reduction, productivity improvements and optimised headcount utilization.
PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT

- Leads, mentors, and provides supervision for the R&M employees, as well as other facility personnel responsible for personnel management; plan for personnel changes, forecast changes in personnel levels, source local recruits.

- Prepare execution facilities by understanding flow and efficiency. Develop a utilisation and cost reduction plan to ensure the business can operate in the most cost-effective manner.
- Continuously review the footprint for opportunities to improve the cost base and act accordingly.
- Ensure all aspects of transformation are considered including 3rd parties, customers, and all stakeholders. Manage these parties to deliver a successful transformation that satisfies all stakeholders.
Experience & Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or experience equivalent to 10+ years of experience related to R&M and/or manufacturing.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing and/or R&M setting with hands on involvement in leading productivity improvement via setup reduction, tooling improvements, etc.
- Management of a profit and loss business of > $10M.
- Experience of significant change management and transformation projects including facility consolidation.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience with multiple direct reports.
- Legally authorized to work in assigned location.
- Ability to interact in English and potentially other language relevant in local area.
- Proficient in MS Office suite.
- Strong organizational skills and high degree of attention to detail and follow through.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communicator.
- Ability to delegate work effectively.
- Understanding of budgetary process and fiscal responsibility requirements.

Experience & Education Preferred:
- Fundamental Lean Training and background knowledge of lean principles.
- Strong understanding and experience in the oil & gas industry.
- Experience working in a multi-product line plant serving international customers.
- Detailed understanding of MRP, with experience in JD Edwards and or Oracle OTM a plus.
- Demonstrated experience developing supply chains to improve operational performance and on-time delivery, lead time and cost.
- Experience of fully burdened plant model.
Travel Required:
- This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to: 10-25%.
