Reporting - Technology Support Analyst
We currently have an opportunity for a Reporting/Technology Support Analyst to join our Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice team. Reporting to Performance Manager, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.
Te Kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
Downer holds a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice that proactively manages and delivers to the national portfolio of facilities including 15 prisons, 98 courts and 141 community correctional sites.
The Reporting/Technology Support Analyst plays a pivotal role within the Contract Performance team, driving data-led decision making and continuous improvement across the contract.
This role is responsible for the administration, optimisation, and ongoing development of the Contract’s Power BI reporting environment, ensuring accurate, insightful, and actionable performance reporting. By transforming complex data into meaningful insights, you will directly support operational excellence and strategic performance improvement.
Working closely with the Performance Analyst and key stakeholders across the contract, you will contribute to business analysis, identify best practice opportunities, and deliver high-quality PowerBI reporting that enables sustainable business growth and enhanced service delivery.

Deliver accurate, insightful, and visually compelling business intelligence reporting through Power BI, enabling informed decision-making at all levels
Maintain high levels of customer and internal stakeholder satisfaction through responsive support, clear communication, and value-driven insight
Ensure systems and processes are consistent, reliable, and continuously optimised for performance and efficiency
Provide robust business analysis and solution design that translates complex data into practical, scalable improvements
Drive operational excellence by identifying performance gaps and implementing data-led enhancements
Champion a culture of continuous improvement, proactively seeking opportunities to refine processes, increase efficiency, and add measurable business value

Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
Advanced capability in Power BI, with demonstrated capabilities in Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Query desirable, with the ability to build integrated business solutions
Advanced capability within the broader Microsoft 365 suite (including Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and related applications) with strong technical confidence across Microsoft technologies
Effective communication and report writing skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong problem-solving capability, including root cause analysis, solution design, and implementation of sustainable process improvements
