Job Description

Purpose of the role

To actively contribute to the Research business by conducting financial analysis and delivering insights that support senior colleagues in producing differentiated content for clients.

Accountabilities

  • Conduct financial industry analysis on covered companies and the broader sector to support the team’s investment thesis.

  • Research sector trends that may impact company/sector recommendations.

  • Update financial models of covered companies from information obtained through company conference calls and press releases as well as other sources.

  • Assist with sector notes and reports on companies and industries followed.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.

  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge, including in support of Research Department initiatives.

  • Cultivate relationships across the Research Department to foster knowledge-sharing and best practices.

Real responsibility, right away

Expect to gain valuable experience, while also having a genuine impact on our business. Working closely with several senior analysts in Asia and globally, you’ll exercise your critical thinking skills, contributing insights and ideas to investment theses and reports. Day-to-day, you could be involved in a wide range of activities, including:

  • Analyze industry trends and company financials
  • Build and maintain financial models and industry databases
  • Gather, synthesize and interpret data from publications and other sources
  • Develop marketing materials for clients, with the opportunity to participate in client meetings and phone calls
  • Gain experience on the publication process of Barclays Research periodicals and learn the art of thematic research writing
  • Interact with sales, trading desks and other research groups.


To be considered for this program, you must:

  • Currently be pursuing an undergraduate degree with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 – June 2028.


Ideally, you would also have:

  • A GPA of 3.2 or above
  • A strong interest in business and finance, though no specific subject is required
  • Resourcefulness, team-orientation, enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit, demonstrated through participation in extracurricular activities.
